British Council Young Global Citizens’ Summit 2012

The British Council Young Global Citizens’ Summit 2012 was held at Sai International School, Bhuvaneshwar from January 25 – 30, 2012 by the British Council.

Our staff, Mrs. Vidya Rai and 3 students – Ashika N of Class IX, Tanisha Sequeira and Pratheek Shetty of Class VIII left to Bhuvaneshwar on January 25th morning by air to participate in the seminar. They were very happy to take part in the seminar. Mrs Vidhya Rai said: “It was a wonderful experience to meet and interact with teachers and students from various parts of India.”

Around 300 students and 100 teachers from all over the India participated in the seminar which was mainly to train them to start Global Citizen’s Club in schools. The seminar fee Rs. 5000/- and to and from air tickets were given to our participants by the British Council as the school had won the First place in Grand Banyan – a million note book project at the South India region. The shield and the prize were distributed during the seminar by the Governor of Jharkhand.
