Teacher’s Day 2017

Teacher’s Day 2017

Teachers have always been the guiding force for the students, who have inspired them to move ahead and achieve much in life. “Teachers Day” is the right time for the students to express their feelings of thankfulness and gratitude towards the teachers. And that’s exactly the thousands of our students did by expressing their love and gratitude to their “Teachers” by organizing a “Teacher’s Day” bash filled with tributes, prayers, songs, dances and skit.

The entire programme was organized by the school cabinet leaders. A few games for the teachers were conducted on the previous day by the students of Class XI and XII. The thoughtful and respectful “Teachers Day” celebrations reflected the fact that the students cared for their beloved teachers- and in response, the teachers appreciated what the students did for them on this “Day”. The teachers actively participated in all the activities of the day with great enthusiasm.

The cultural programme began with a short prayer service by the students of class X, thanking and praising God for the gift of good teachers. Head Boy Craig D’Souza of Class X welcomed the gathering and the vote of thanks was delivered by Head Girl Aroline Miranda of XII. Shaima Shamim and Sakshi Pinto, both of class X compeered the programme. The teachers joined the students in singing a medley of Bollywood songs of the yester years like Bar Bar Dekho, Chalte Chalte etc. A classroom life was enacted by the students. Jokers entertained the crowd with their fulfilled anecdotes. The dancers of class X made teachers happy with their mesmerizing dances. A few spot games were conducted and prizes were given to teachers who won in various contests.

In response, appreciating the efforts put by the students in organizing the event, Sr. Melissa A C, the Principal said, “A teacher is someone who is the mentor of your life. Right from the nursery teacher who taught you to identify the alphabets, to the one who was your guide at the Math or computer project, a teacher has been the guiding force of your life. So, respect and obey your teachers, and you will all be good students coming out in flying colors in your academics”. The formal function ended with teachers joining in the “Penguin Dance” along with their students.

The cultural programme put up by the students, was followed by a get-together of teachers organized by Parents Teachers Association for the first time in the history of MCCS. The programme began with a blessing song ‘Showers of blessings’ sung by the PTEC members.” Another song “In This Moment” dedicated to Teachers on “Teachers Day” too was played. This was followed by a bunch of games, fun and frolic. Prizes were distributed to the teachers who won in various games. Mr. Neville Rodriguess welcomed the staff, Mr. Sandeep DSouza, the Vice president of PTEC proposed the vote of thanks and Mrs. Aimie Silveira compeered the programme. The celebration ended with sumptuous lunch arranged by the PTEC members.
