World Environment Day 2015

World Environment Day 2015

To raise global awareness of protecting our nature and mother earth among children, the members of the Young Citizen Club celebrated “World Environment Day’ on Saturday, 13 June, 2015 at MCCS. The programme began with a prayer service.  The young minds prayed for a sustainable living on earth and also preserve it for the future generations.

“Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet Consume with Care” was the theme that was highlighted. The students enacted a skit showing the negative impact on the resources of the environment due to urbanization, industrialization and deforestation.

Students also performed a dance ballet signifying the importance of fresh water, air and environment for sustainable lifestyle. No programme can be complete without a song. So, we had the nightingales of the group who melodiously sang to an English number on conservation and giving out the message of leading a healthy lifestyle.

Sr. Melissa, Principal of MCCS presided over the function. In her address, she stressed on practical day to day activities where one could reduce the use of natural resources and promote reusing and recycling. She created the awareness and interest among students to ‘Conserving with care means living within planetary boundaries to ensure a healthy future’.
