09 Oct A Day of Prayer and Reflection to Our Staff
We organized a day of Prayer and Reflection for our Staff on 9th October, 2021.
“Only quiet time and reflection will help us enhance our potentiality.” Setting the stage for a refreshing morning, the Principal, Sr Melissa addressed the gathering. She accorded a warm welcome to the multi faceted, young and dynamic Fr Dixon Lawrence DSouza SVD, the resource person of the day highlighting his accolades in academics, spiritual and other fields.
Through the first half of the session, Fr Dixon articulated the changing priorities of life, recapping the simpler things that have turned complex over time and generations. Elaborating on the constant need to create a perfect self image that has created a pressure of competition amongst humans, the staff were allowed to interrogate on the definition of Life. Describing life as a journey and a gift of God whose control is completely vested upon every human being, Fr Dixon asserted the need to pause and redirect in life every time we come across hurdles. Quoting Paulo Coelho, “Straight road do not make skilful drivers”, Fr Dixon very thoughtfully emphasized on facing the various paths of life.
Filling the atmosphere with joy and humour, in the second half of the session, Fr Dixon narrated an anecdote on the squirrel family elucidating the effect of competition that has led to an expectation of perfect world with perfect human beings. “Imperfection helps us to grow in life” he exclaimed trying to address the blessings that is stored in being imperfect. Fr Dixon also pronounced the necessity of family life and the session ended with a soothing and prayerful reflection.
Ms Priyanka extended the vote of thanks bowing with gratitude to Fr Dixon for the lively sessions and to the school management for organizing an enriching and refreshing day for the staff members at the end of the first term.
