01 Jun A new academic year 2018 -19, a new start for the young hearts
New beginnings bring with it new choices, cheer and charm of a better day, year and life ahead. To make the experience and memory of their first day – June 1st of the new academic year special, the teachers welcomed the students and engaged them in joyful banter about their summer holidays and what to look forward to in the year ahead.
The kindergarten and lower primary class rooms were decorated colourfully to make the children feel at home.
A special Inaugural assembly was held for all students in the school auditorium, meaningfully conducted by the students of class X. The prayer service highlighting the theme ‘Bloom where you are planted’ was conducted, imploring God’s blessings on all. Sr. Melissa, the Principal, introduced and welcomed Sr. Marie Lucy, the coordinator for KG to classes III. Sr. Marie Lucy then welcomed the New Vice Principal Sr. Lidwyn Pinto A.C and the other new staff members with a flower each followed by her message on using the ‘five-finger’ prayer highlighted in the prayer service. Then Tiara Gonsalvis of Class II was felicitated for winning 1st prize in the State level Chess tournament held in May 2018.
Sr. Melissa, the Principal welcomed the new staff members with a flower each. She also welcomed the students, especially the newcomers to the school and the new academic year and briefed them on the rules and regulations of the school. The assembly concluded by singing the National Anthem.
Students dispersed to their respective classes, where the class teachers further briefed them for the year ahead with school calendar in hand. The students seemed enthusiastic to make a fresh start in their school life. Thus, the new academic year began with heavenly graces, happy faces and hopeful minds.
