AICS Inter School T.T Tournament (Seniors) – ‘Spin To Win – 2016’

AICS (Association of ICSE and CBSE Schools of D.K and Udupi Districts) Inter School Table Tennis Tournament – 2016 was inaugurated today (13th August 2016) at 9.00 am in our School Auditorium, Maryhill, Mangalore.

The inaugural ceremony began with a prayer song led by the students of Class X invoking God’s blessings on everyone gathered. The little ones of Class III mesmerized the audience by their gracious welcome dance. The encouraging welcome words by Sr. Melissa A.C., Principal of MCCS put everyone at ease, specially the participants who would take part in the Table Tennis tournament – “SPIN to WIN – 2016”.

Mrs. Joy J Rai, the President of AICS and Principal of Canara CBSE School, Mangaluru inaugurated the tournament by spinning the TT Ball on the board with the opponent Ms. Clara Maria, the staff of our school who was also a national TT Player during her school days. In her inaugural address she encouraged the participants stressing on the importance of participation rather than on winning prizes.

At the end Ms. Yasmine Das proposed the vote of thanks and Ms. Richa Pinto compeered the inaugural programme.
This was followed by an introductory guideline by Mr. Gautham Shetty, Chief referee and P.D of Delhi Public School, Mangaluru.

The tournament began with a participation of 148 students from 22 ICSE and CBSE schools of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

Valedictory & Prize Distribution:
The closing ceremony began with a prayer song led by the students of class X.
Sr. Maria Jyothi A.C., Joint Secretary of our school presided over the function while Shree Raghavalu, Manager, SBI, Yeyyadi Branch, Mangaluru was the Chief Guest for the Valedictory function who honoured the prize winners.
Vice Principal Sr. Snehal A.C. welcomed the gathering, Ms. Neesha proposed the vote of thanks and Ms. Ashwini compeered the programme.
As part of the Green Cover project, the dignitaries on the dais on both, the inaugural and valedictory functions were presented with a Neem saplings to further the care for an healthy environment.

Boys Category: Winners : Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar
Runners Up : Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Kendra, Alike

Girls Category: Winners : Delhi Public School, Mangaluru
Runners Up: St. Mary’s English School, Udupi
