26 Feb Aue Revoir : Farewell Programme to students of Grade X and XII: 2021-22
A farewell program for the outgoing students of Grade X and XII was held on 26th February 2022.
The Maryhill Chapel was suffused with prayer and blessings during the Thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration. Fr Roopesh Madtha addressed the students and quoted “the kite flies when the thread is in the hand, so let your roots be rooted here”, indicating them to be attached and grateful to their alma mater. At the end, the principal Sr Melissa prayed for all the outgoing students and blessed them. The heavenly choir by the students of Grade VIII added meaning and life to the celebration.
It was followed by a formal programme in the auditorium. The event was dedicated to reminisce all the years spent together by the Grade X and XII students at the school. Students of Grade IX and XI organized the program with exhilarating enthusiasm, weaving a trail of nostalgia in the atmosphere. Filling the auditorium with ethereal lights, the outgoing students entered the auditorium holding lamps. The programme began with a prayer service illuminating the divine presence around us. Rochelle Madtha and Ahan Shetty of Grade IX welcomed the gathering followed by a graceful welcome dance. The Students tapped to the beats with their theme dance encapsulating all the memories of a student’s school life. Further, students of Grade XI staged a humour filled musical skit recapitulating the period of online and offline classes. A student representative of Grade X and XII respectively voiced their sentiments of gratitude and thanks and also presented a burse to the school as a token of love and gratitude. The programme was compered by Alyson, Dion, Elsha and Ganesh.
The administrator, Sr Carissima addressed the students inscribing the significance of the bond and connectivity that has grown in this campus between the students and the school. Principal Sr Melissa in her farewell address stated, “The greatest joy that we have is, when you recognize your teacher after school days.” She impressed upon the students, the importance of remaining true to the school motto “Higher and Nobler”. She also asked the students to always remember God, their Parents, the school, the teachers along with their friends and the poor and the needy.
The class teachers handed over a token of love and gratitude to every student of Grade X and XII. All the teaching and non teaching staff sang a melodious blessing song and blessed the students. The programme concluded with a fellowship meal deepening the bond of connectivity of Mount Carmel family.
