14 Nov Children’s Day Celebrations 2019
It was a festive mood in our school on November 14th as we celebrated the Children’s Day. It was also declared as an ethnic day in the school, so one could see shades of different colours as our students were all dressed in traditional attire.
The staff had organized a lively cultural programme which commenced with a prayer imploring God’s abundant blessings on the children followed by a spritely welcome dance. Quoting Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru “The Children of today will make the India of tomorrow”, Principal Sr. Melissa motivated the students to make best use of all the opportunities provided to them in school and at home to become good children now, so as to be better citizens of the country tomorrow and wished everyone a happy children’s day. The teacher nightingales of MCCS greeted the students through their melodious voices. The vibrant and youthful staff then put up a series of dances depicting the different stages in the growth of a child and the contribution of teachers at every stage.
The programme ended with a celebration dance by all the students from Nursery to class 12 followed with ice-cream which was relished by all. At the end of the programme, a well spring of energy vibrated in the Auditorium and happiness was etched on the faces of every student. Vow! It was indeed a day where the teachers found energy in connecting with the students directly.
Teacher Saritha and Sr. Pauline compared the programme and Head Boy Glen Sequeira proposed the vote of thanks.
