Colourful Annual Day of Classes IV to VI

The 12th Annual Day of our School for classes IV to VI was celebrated on 29th November 2019. The chief guest of the day, Dr Rameela Shekar, escorted by the Principal, members of the management and PTA, was warmly welcomed and escorted with the lively beat of “Shingeri Melam”, performed by the students.

The school orchestra set up a melodious overture, heralding the start of the much awaited event. A devotional prayer dance invoked the blessings of the Almighty. This was followed by a welcome song “Swagatham”. Principal Sister Melissa welcomed and introduced the Chief Guest and all gathered in a unique way.

The joy of the Apostolic Carmel shone brightly as it celebrated its Sesquicentennial Year of its establishment in India and this joy was aptly expressed in a rousing Opera in Kannada on the life of Foundress Venerable Mother Veronica and the A.C. presence in India.

To mark the celebration of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the students paid a fitting tribute through a musical skit in Hindi, “Mohan se Mahatma Tak”, which outlined the life of the Mahatma as a journey which began with the birth of Gandhi and culminated in his becoming the Father of our Nation.

The annual report for the year 2019 was then presented covering all the activities of the school during the academic year. The meritorious students of the previous year were felicitated by the chief Guest.

The chief guest appreciated the teamwork in the school, commenting that she had noticed that all the staff, students and support staff worked together as one family, which was the secret of the success of the school. In her message she urged the parents to ask themselves if they were happy when they went to bed and when they woke up in the morning. She drove home the message that parents needed to be happy in order to have happy children. This was the most important factor contributing to mental health.

The English Skit “Wizard of Oz” presented with an aura of magic, transported the audience into the world of Munchkins, witches and wizards and held the audience spellbound. This was followed by a scintillating “Rainbow Dance” that filled the atmosphere with joyous gaiety and was a colourful feast for the eyes. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Rakshitha. The programme was compeered by students Anika, Samarth, Daniel, Clare, Sanvi and Aiden. It ended with the singing of the school song by the school choir.
