Martyrs Day Celebrations – 2016

Martyrs Day Celebrations – 2016

We at Mount Carmel imbibe great values in our children, so that they become ambassadors of these values as they grow to be responsible citizens of the country. Keeping this in mind Peace Day/Martyrs Day was celebrated on January 30, 2016 to pay homage to the victims who fought for the freedom, welfare and progress of the India and sacrificed their lives

Sr. Juliana, an English teacher for Primary students in our school was the chief guest. Students of Class I C and D hosted the programme on this day through prayer, song, hymn, dance, skit and message.

In every art performed, the true essence of peace and harmony was highlighted. The theme of every religion “Love and Se” was beautifully enacted by the students aged 6 years through a skit coupled with one of the beautiful hymn “Make me a channel of your Peace”.

The climax was indeed a treat to be watched where the students danced as doves, which is the symbol of peace. We did pledge to ourselves to be an instrument of peace wherever we meet.

Sr. Juliana in her message cited that, “peace is within ourselves, and we must bring it out by living in peace in the society.”

MCCS Students from classes IV to VIII had their Peace Day celebrations on January 30, 2016. The programme was conducted by the students of class IV.

Mrs. Sylvia Benis, a Higher Primary senior teacher of our school was the chief guest for the programme. The programme began with the all faith prayer and followed by the prayer dance.  The significance of the day was given through a power point presentation by Ruth and Dhrishya. The message of sharing and loving was conveyed through a song “Heal the Worlds”, sung by a group of students.

Skit on “Peace and Harmony” among various religions was enacted to highlight the Gandhian principals of non-violence, peace and harmony. It was followed by a rhythmic dance performance where the little soldiers showed how the Indian Army is guarding the frontiers of our country by thus safeguarding the common man.

Ashwini welcomed the gathering, while Aysha proposed the vote of thanks.  Mellyor and Thaneesha compeered the programme.
