16 Sep Parents General Meeting – 2015
A general meeting of the parents of the school was held on September 14 & 16 in the school auditorium from 2pm onwards.
Mr. Ronald Pinto, retired Vice Principal of St Aloysius College addressed the parents of higher classes ‘On the Role of Parents in the Academic Activities of their Children’ on September 14. He dealt with the problems of handling the adolescent children in today’s advancing technological age and stressed the need-of-the-hour for parents to be ahead of their children in using the latest gadgets in order to guide them positively.
Mr. Louis Manoj, Assistant Professor of Commerce, Government First Degree College, Kavoor addressed the parents of lower classes on September 16. The agenda for the meeting was ‘Parenting in the present Education Scenario’. He addressed the importance of fostering ‘independent thinking’ in present children, giving them space to think out of the box, to learn on their own. He stressed that the parents need to instill the sense of responsibility right at tender age by giving them small tasks at home.
