Sakshi Karkada Shines with Double Podium Finish at Karnataka State Junior Athletic Meet

Sakshi Christina Karkada, a standout athlete of grade X of our School, representing D.K district, showcased an exceptional performance in the U/16 Girls category in the Karnataka State Junior & U/23 Athletic Meet 2024, organized by the Mysuru District Athletics Association held from September 14th to 17th in Mysuru. She bagged a commendable silver medal in the Pentathlon (comprising long jump, shot put, 60 mtrs race, 600 mtrs race and 80 mtrs hurdles) and clinched a bronze medal in the 80-meter hurdles, marking a remarkable achievement in her athletic journey.

Having qualified for the South Zone Junior Athletic Championship scheduled from October 17th to 19th in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, Sakshi will represent Karnataka at the National Junior Athletic Championship in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha from October 25th to 29th.

Sakshi, the daughter of Mr Jeevan Karkada and Mrs Deepthi Karkada, is being trained by Khelo India Coach Mr Bhakshith Salian, Mangaluru.
