20 Aug St. Agnes Special kids move us on… towards greater Compassion…
The staff of our School made the memory of the celebration of the 150 years of the Apostolic Carmel momentous by launching the Midday Meal Scheme for the 300 mentally challenged students of St. Agnes Special School, Bendore with their donation of Rs. 1,50,000/- to start with.
A few special school kids along with their Principal Sr. Shruthi A C came personally to thank the School for our compassionate initiative. The love, innocence and gratitude made them hug our teachers, and the tears that rolled down their cheeks made us experience their helplessness. The students too during the break witnessed this touching scene and have motivated their parents to contribute towards the same. It was a moment of compassion and amazing grace.
We hope that our State Government considers the appeal of these special kids and their teachers to include them too in the State Midday Meal Scheme.
Till then, they depend on people of goodwill to continue the good work begun by our school at least till the end of the scholastic year.
