21 Jun World Environment Day 2014
The members of the Young Global Citizens Club celebrated the World Environment Day on June 21, 2014. The school has a good tradition of starting our programs with prayer. The prayer song helped us motivate ourselves to save the Mother Earth.
Then some members gave interesting yet shocking facts on the alarming rate of the depletion of resources. They also gave us some tips to help conserve our finite resources. A poem was recited on the theme “Environment”. The rhythmic and rhyming tunes of the poem helped further to enjoy the beauty of nature. To involve as many students as possible, students came up with a skit based on climatic changes of three main countries: India, America and Australia. The students of the club were also enthusiastic and ever ready to play their role in saving nature. To add more to the programme the students of the club sang “I am just a dreamer” a song by Ozzy Osbourne. To end this event we had Sr. Melissa our Principal to speak a few words of wisdom. After the programme all the students of the club were very happy as their hard work paid off. There was a sense of satisfaction for the little that they could do towards the environment.
