Young Innovators Shine at SCIENTIA 2025

The Young Innovators of Kindergarten to Grade 4 of our School shone at SCIENTIA 2025 organised on the occasion of National Science Day on the 28th of February. The event aimed to instil scientific curiosity and appreciation for the contributions of scientists, particularly commemorating the discoveries of Sir C.V. Raman.

The programme commenced with a solemn invocation, seeking divine blessings. Suzanne and Gisselle welcomed the gathering and formally introduced the Chief Guest, Mrs Josephine Rebello. Reegan extended a warm welcome to the esteemed panel of judges, Ms Shoba Dsouza, Ms Richa Mascarenhas, Ms Nonisha Saldanha, and Ms Sheryl Machado.

The exhibition was inaugurated with an engaging “Turmeric pH Indicator Experiment”, which captivated the audience with its simple yet fascinating demonstration of acid-base indicator properties. The revealed message, “SCIENTIA 2025” symbolized ‘The New Dawn’, setting an inspiring tone for the event.

Following the inauguration, the youngest scientists, the LKG and UKG students took centre stage, impressing the audience with interactive experiments such as the Xylophone Effect Experiment, Ujala Experiment, and Dancing Popcorn Experiment. Their enthusiasm and confidence in presenting fundamental scientific concepts were truly commendable.

The Chief Guest, Mrs Josephine Rebello deeply impressed by the efforts of the students, took a moment to applaud the tiny scientists, encouraging them to continue their journey of discovery. The Administrator, Sr Carissima, also shared an inspiring message, appreciating the creativity and intelligence exhibited by the young minds.

The students of Grade 1 to 4 then presented a variety of exciting experiments, demonstrating scientific concepts with enthusiasm and innovation. The panel of judges observed the exhibits closely, recognizing the best presentations with words of appreciation. The event was skilfully compeered by Ishanvi and Vihan, while Sheraz, Mithila and Anlyn delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, bringing the programme to a memorable conclusion.

The National Science Day celebration at our School was not just an event but an immersive experience, one that ignited young minds, nurtured curiosity and reinforced the importance of scientific exploration in shaping the future.
